The SG6513 is an ideal solution for Flyback Switch Mode Power Systems. It provides Over Current Protection (OCP) monitoring at 3.3V, 5V and 12V; Under Voltage Sense (UVS) monitoring at 3.3V, 5V and 12V; and Under Voltage Protection (UVP) monitoring at 12V. When an Under Voltage Condition occurs, the Under Voltage Sense (UVS) function will reset the PGO signal from high to low. Should the 12V voltage further degrade to 9V, FPO will be set to high and shut down the PWM controller IC. Similar security safeguards will be activated should an Over Voltage Condition be detected.
Furthermore, the SG6513 provides Over Temperature Protection (OTP) function, a constant 5 x Iref current is sourcing out of RT pin to an external NTC thermistor. If RT pin voltage is decreasing to less than 0.95V, due to over temperature condition, FPO pin will be pulled high after 2ms de-bounce time.
