The L type balance has the left and right ends of the bend pipe provided with bellows. The bellows at the outer side of the bend pipe is blinded. It is constructed so that the internal pressure is simultaneously applied on this blinded bellows by uniform pressure pipe. Further, these two bellows are constrained by tie rod bolts to be operable left and right about the bend pipe. This operation corresponds to the so called expansion and contraction operation. The internal pressure thrust also acts on the blind bellows so that the expansion of this bellows brings about the contraction of another bellows connected thereto by the tie rod bolts, whereupon the thrusts extinguish each other to provide a balanced condition for facilitating expansion and contraction. This L type balance is mounted on the bend portion to be capable of absorbing not only the axial expansion and contraction, but simultaneously the lateral displacement by providing another bellows.
