ES is mainly used for PDC steel body bit. The spherical tungsten carbide increased the contact bond area, the interface between the PCD layer and the tungsten carbide backing is designed in kinds of claws, which all reduce the residue stress, increase the toughness, strength and life, so the bit have stronger attack, fast drilling speed, better rock debris removal and decreased the mud, suitable for drilling complicated formation with hard layer.
