Also released in early 1996, the XPR Series boasts features similar to the XFR units, such as zero voltage switching. Unlike the XFR Series, the XPR units include Power Factor Correction (PFC). Power Factor Correction will be required for the European CE Mark starting July 1, 1998. The XPR Series ensures the Xantrex will meet the needs of European customers and others who incorporate our products into their own. The main control board is the same as in the XFR units. However, the input board for the CFR will be modified to include the PFC "front end". Again, our modular design concept makes for fast production and delivery times. The XPR is a 19" rack mountable power supply. The 100 Watt model is available in 1.75" (1U) configuration. The 2500 Watt Power supply is available in a 3.50" (2U) setup. This series is targeted at the automated test equipment (ATE), OEM applications(where the Xantrex power supply is incorporated into another system), R&D markets, or any situation where reducing input current is critical. It can also be used in combination with anther product to satisfy individual requirements.
